A group of 54 scientists, six of those being Nobel Prize winners, sent a memo to the EPA urging that the pesticide should not be registered for use because of the dangerous effects to pregnant women and children, the elderly and farm workers.

The EPA who cares more about corporate profits than your health, pretty much told the scientists to shove it and allowed this pesticide on the market place despite the know risks to the general polulation.

California’s Department of Pesticide Regulation says that the chemical as a carcinogen and has also had objections to it’s use. California officials have stated that no matter what the EPA’s action is, use of the new will not be allowed in the state until they conclude their own review in a year.

A spokesman for the United Farmworkers of America said in a statement that the EPA should “focus on alternatives that don’t view us as disposable human beings who can risk cancer and miscarriages in the name of supposed economic gain.”

Robert Bergman, a chemistry professor at USC, called the EPA’s decision outrageous.

“I think it’s pretty clear these guys never had any intention of taking our concerns seriously,” he said. “They have intended to approve this stuff from day one and we were just a bump in the road.”

Scientists said that the use of methyl iodide is problematical because its combination with chloropicrin, another soil fumigant that recently sickened some 125 farm workers who breathed it in near Reno, Nev.

It’s seems that CBS purposely pulled kids from states that had no child labor laws to be able to pull this abusive show off. Then they went down to New Mexico, cause it they new the laws were weak enough to be able to film the show there and get away with it.

CBS’s newest reality shows “Kid Nation” is absolutely criminal and the parents of these kids and anyone associated with the production should be thrown right in jail for child abuse.

Did you know that this crazy show puts 40 children all between the ages of 8 to 15 in a deserted New Mexico desert town alone, with absolutely no parental supervision? Then they force them to fend for themselves! In fact it has already came out that one kids face was burned by spattered cooking grease, and four other children accidentally drank bleach and had to be treated by medical personal.

Want to here the worst part? These idiot parents actually signed contracts that waive CBS responsibility from anything that happens on set including if a child dies on set.

In these crazy contracts, these moronic parents agreed to sign blanket liability waivers that said the parents couldn’t sue CBS if their child is seriously injured, gets a Sexually Transmitted Disease (std), or dies during the taping of “Kid Nation.”

The contract allows the network to make their own medical decisions on behalf of the minors, including surgery, and make no promise to “the qualifications or credentials” of the medical people on staff.

In yet another Daycare Disaster a Tulsa daycare was just shutdown after a DHS inspection found a saw a “red-faced and sweating” 4-year-old child walking down the hall who they had never seen before.

Investigators say the owner of the daycare admitted that she hid the 4 year old under a pile of laundry so that DHS wouldn’t know she was caring for too many children.

The Daycare owner had a staggering 34 non-compliance situations since January of this 2007.

When are people going to realize that it is NOT OK to shove your kid in Daycare? Why do so many of today’s mothers care so little about actually being a parent?

Bisphenol A is a chemical used in the production of polycarbonates and is also leached from the metal lining of cans. It has been found at alarmingly high rates in one-third of the cans of baby formula.

At low levels of exposure, studies have linked BPA to developmental toxicity, neuro-toxicity, cancer, infertility, and birth defects including Down syndrome.

Just because the formula companies have tried to poison your mind, doesn’t mean that this stuff is good for your kids. There is no substitute for a mother’s milk. So stop throwing your kids in day care with a bottle of formula and maybe just maybe actually be a parent!

There have already been at least two deaths, seven infant entrapments and 55 incidents with these cribs.

The recalled Simplicity crib models are: Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Crib N Changer Combo, Chelsea, Nursery-in-a-Box, and Pooh 4 in 1.

The recall also includes Simplicity cribs that use the Graco brand logo: Ultra 3 in 1, Aspen 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and the Trio.

The cribs will have one of the model numbers, which can be found on the envelope attached to the mattress support and on the label attached to the headboard: The model numbers are: 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910, 8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996.

She writes a story about how great it is to have her kids in daycare while she has her glorious career as a reporter.

This Reporter comments that “ I’m sure I’d still be wondering if I should potty-train my 5-year-old if it wasn’t for the Daycare worker” She tells about how a daycare worker was the first to introduce her children to the potty, and congratulate their efforts.

She also brags that the daycare worker was the first to give her children nicknames, a quote “sure gesture of love in my eyes if there ever was one.”

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? Has the world gone nuts? Aren’t these things that the mother is supposed to be teaching the kid? How could you want to miss out on that experience?

What a pile of garbage this reporter is. How can anyone think it is all right to have another person raise their kids, let alone some daycare? And to be happy that someone else is pretty much playing the role of mother, what is wrong with this lady?

Source of pollution: Cold War-era chemical weapons manufacturing. Over a period of 70 years, 300,000 tons of chemical waste was dumped, leaching around 200 chemicals into the groundwater. The areas drinking water is seriously contaminated and life expectancy for men is only 42.

NORILSK, RUSSIA
Number of people Affected: 134,000
Pollutants: Air pollution - particulates, heavy metals, sulphur dioxide, phenols, hydrogen sulphide.
Source of pollution: The mining and processing of nickel and other related metals.
The snow is actually black in Norilsk, and 16 % of adolescent deaths at the former Siberian labor camp are caused by respiratory illnesses related to the mining operations. Birth defects are common.

VAPI, INDIA

Pollutants: Chemicals, heavy metals
Source of pollution: Industry estates
Vapi has more than 50 factories that produce petrochemicals, fertilizers, dyes and paint, that all dump dangerous levels of pollutants into the groundwater. There is a high incidence of respiratory diseases and spontaneous abortions.

KABWE, ZAMBIA

Pollutants: Lead, cadmium
Source of pollution: Lead mining and processing
Kids in Kabwe still bathe in the heavily polluted water that comes from the town’s lead mine, which ran without safeguards from 1902 to 1994. Many have lead levels in their blood that are considered fatal.

LINFEN, CHINA

Pollutants: Fly-ash, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, arsenic, lead.
Source of pollution: Automobile and industrial emissions
The residents breathe the toxic output from hundreds of unregulated mines, factories and refineries. Clinics report an explosion in bronchitis, pneumonia and lung cancer.

LA OROYA, PERU
Number of people Affected: 35,000
Pollutants: Lead, copper, zinc, sulphur dioxide.

The US owners of this metallic mine have failed to clean up the plant, which exposes residents to toxic emissions and waste. Ninety-nine per cent of children living in or around La Oyroya have blood lead levels that go beyond safe limits and acid rain caused by sulphur dioxide in the air has decimated vegetation in the area.

Researchers from Peru’s Geophysical Institute are on their way to the area to verify if it was a meteorite or something else.

Experts are reporting that 100 people who came in close contact with the meteorite crater have become ill with vomiting and headaches and respiratory problems because of gasses coming out of the crater.

People on scene reported that the muddy crater boiled for about 10 minutes. Some are speculating that the heat could have given off a vapor that made people sick, scientists are now taking water samples.
