What is Atacand used for?
Atacand is used to treat high blood pressure.
Atacand effectively reduces blood pressure both when used as monotherapy and in combination with diuretics, calcium antagonists or ACE inhibitors. It may be used alone or with other drugs that treat high blood pressure.
Who should not take Atacand?
You should not take Atacand when you are pregnant. If you find out you are pregnant while taking Atacand you should call your health care provider and stop taking Atacand as soon as possible. During the second and third trimester of pregnancy there have been reports of harm and
can cause injury and even death to the developing fetus.
What are some possible side effects of Atacand?
- Back pain
- Dizziness
- Cold-like symptoms
- Sore throat
- Stuffy nose
- Upper respiratory tract infection
