Nuflexxa is used for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis of the knee in patients who have failed to respond to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy. The medication is injected into the knee to help with pain and lubricate the joints.

Who should not take Nuflexxa?

People who have had allergic reations to Hyaluronate. Avoid strenuous activities or prolonged activities that put a lot of weight on your legs for an hour after using the drug.

What should I tell my health care provider?

Tell your health care provider if you:

  • Have ever had any reaction to hyaluronate or to bird protein, feathers, or egg products.

What are some possible side effects of Nuflexxa?

The most common side effects of Nuflexxa:

  • Blue color or flushing or redness of skin
  • cough
  • difficulty in swallowing
  • dizziness
  • redness or pain at place of injection
