Percocet (Acetaminophen with oxycodone)

Percocet (Acetaminophen with oxycodone) is used for the relief of moderate to severe pain. This combination is very effective in relieving relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. Dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the pain and the response of the patient. It may occasionally be necessary to exceed the usual dosage recommended below in cases of more severe pain or in those patients who have become tolerant to the analgesic effect of narcotics.

What side effects can this medication cause?

Although side effects from acetaminophen and oxycodone are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • dizziness
  • lightheadedness
  • drowsiness
  • upset stomach
  • vomiting
  • constipation
  • stomach pain
  • rash
  • difficulty urinating

If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

  • difficulty breathing
  • mood changes
