Reglan (Metoclopramide)

REGLAN tablets are indicated as short-term therapy for adults with symptomatic, documented gastro-esophageal reflux who fail to respond to conventional therapy. The principal effect of metoclopramide is on symptoms of postprandial and daytime heartburn with less observed effect on nocturnal symptoms. Reglan (Metoclopramide) is used to relieve nausea and vomiting; heartburn, stomach pain, and bloating; and a persistent feeling of fullness after meals.

Diabetic Gastroparesis (Diabetic Gastric Stasis) reglan tablets (metoclopramide tablets, USP) is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with acute and recurrent diabetic gastric stasis. The usual manifestations of delayed gastric emptying (e.g., nausea, vomiting, heartburn, persistent fullness after meals, and anorexia) appear to respond to reglan® within different time intervals.

What side effects can this medication cause?

Although side effects from metoclopramide are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • drowsiness
  • restlessness
  • fatigue
  • constipation
  • diarrhea

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

  • involuntary movements of the limbs or eyes
  • spasm of the neck, face, and jaw muscles
  • change in mood (depression)
